I have a street/strip car with an electric pump, and one very nice feature of an electric pump is that you can cool the engine after shutdown. Pair that with an electric fan, and you can cool the engine very quickly. For example, imagine being at the dragstrip on a 90 degree day, right after making a pass. It would take forever to cool the engine, but the electric components will get it done quickly. That scenario applies only to someone who likes to drag race a lot, but in that case it is very useful.
