| While I am not one to usually disagree, your water pump is not worth it. An electric water pump isn't a good idea even if it were dropped to the same price as a new oem pump. The problem is that an electric pump is never as powerful as the stock mechanical pump. You would need a huge electric motor to produce the same amount of water flow as the stock pump and there isn't enough room in the engine bay to fit one of these. The same goes for an e-fan setup. While the e-fan setup is nice in that it can be set to run after the car is off, an electric fan cannot compete with the stock fan clutch in terms of power. Gasoline power is amazingly efficient. If you do get the BDE pump, it's only going to give an extra 4 hp or so. This is not worth the $600 by any stretch of the imagination. While it might be expensive to make all of these custom parts, one must ask whether or not a gain of 4 hp and a loss of cooling capacity is worth $600. In my mind it's not. For the same amount of money, one can get a custom tune. Here is a website which compared an overdriven water pump, several underdriven water pumps and an electric pump.
