At least I was able to walk away from it. Rotor blades all over the road, landing gear busted to pieces and airframe severely bent to hell. All because of a friggin telephone line. I was over at a buddy's shop showing it off and all, cranked it up and flew it for a tank of gas.. Refueled and took off down the road again. Well, in the background of power lines, one telephone cable crossing the road just blended right in and I hit the fucker.. Rotor blades moving over 400MHP go to little toothpick sized pieces in that kind of impact. BTW: the telephone line is supported by a 1/2" steel braid cable. It wasnt over there though. Some rednecks on the side of the road watching got pelted by the radio batteries that went flying on impact. The helo itself fell only feet short of them. They were like, "Wull daum sun, dat there helipopper 'bout heet us - but eet shur wuz purty buzzin round in da aiyer lika dat." Bout coulda slapped them for being so damn close after I told them to stay back. Last thing I need is Goober coming after me with a lawsuit.
