One of my friends got a brand new 2001 maxima SE 5spd a few months ago and ever since he got he has been trash talking about how he would beat me if we ever raced, cause the new nissan 3000 series engine in his car has 240hp(stock) compared to my 222hp(stock) and that because my engine has over 100k on the engine its not as fast. I pointed out to him there were other factors like vehicle weight and gear ratios and the fact that my car was modded to stgIV. Anyway i finally got my chance to see if he could back up his trash talk We were leaving some kids house on our way the the movies and on a nice flat 4lane road we came up to a stoplight so i pulled in the right lane next to him in the left. I put my window down and said "lets do this" he nodded and we both focused on the lights, the cross trafic light turned yellow and we were both reving our cars to about 3k for the launch. Well the cross trafic light turned to red and he jumped the light about a half a second before it turned green. I dumped the clutch and got a decent launch, i was trying not to spin the tires so i kinda bogged it off the line, so then i floor it and the tires are barley staying hooked up, any more gas and they would have compleatly broke loose. He had got a good launch with minimal wheel spin off the line. He was ahead of me cause he jumped the light but i had caught up to him at the end of first and layed down a second long 2nd gear scrach as i passed him and continued to gain a lead he kept up about 2 car lengths untill he shifted out of 3rd into fourth and his car fell flat on its ass, i just walked away from him from there on out. Ohh yeah it sure felt good to put an end to all that trash talking! And then when we got to the theater he complained that he lost cause he had 2 people in his car, so i offered to race again, but he refused :)
