On-line trading is sure to erode some of the demand. On the other hand, I'd be curious to know how old the average broker is, a good number may be nearing retirement age, which could be good for you if you choose to become a broker. More importantly, is this something that interests you and that you would want to do for a long while? If you spend two years in training with a low salalry, you are going to have to be in the business for a while before you get a good return on your investment. What do you want to be doing in 5-10 years. Lastly, remember there are alternatives. Just my $.02
