Message	First connect the trans to the motor. Second connect starter. Third grab either a battery or charger with some jumper cables. Install compression test in whatever cylinder. Connect ground, then touch the positive to the cable coming off the stater. It will turn the motor giving you a number on the gauge. Repeat for all cylinders. The engine doesn't move around at all so you don't need anything to hold it. If you are worried have a friend hold it, it wont move.
