energy is energy. similar to the fact that engine setups with different sized turbos pushing same psi will make different horsepower. lighter compressor means turbine has to do less work. engine does not need to produce as much exhaust to create same turbine rpm. similar to adding lightweight flywheel, decrease inertial/rotating mass, increase efficiency or parasitic losses. your are thinking in terms of turbos working harder to make more horsepower. think in terms of turbos working easier (to make same psi) to make more horsepower.
