:My gears make no whine and were a awesome upgrade. If your gears start to whine right away very loud then most likely they were not shimmed right. And if you drive them for any extended period that way you will wear a pattern into the gears and they will never be quiet. Sounds nice, but isn't necessarily true. After dealing with three rebuilds of my first set of gears, including custom shims and unique preload, I had SpecialtyZ install a brand new set of gears in on of my Diffs and they still whined. They aren't quite as bad as my first set of gears, but I'm still in ear plug territory (subjective). Point being, that SpecialtyZs driveline shop has problably installed 50+ of these gear sets and sometimes, it's just going to be the gears, and there's just nothing you can do aboot the whine. :My gears where installed twice. Once with just swapping the gears and using the old shims and they whined. The second time they were sent to a driveline shop that made some custom shims and some little tweaks (not sure what they are).
