| I'm thinking about swapping in my 4.10 Leader diff in the next couple of days when I install the 1-pc driveshaft I just received. I am very anxious about it though and after reading some posts on the topic here, I was hoping to receive some additional helpful input based on experiences from those of you here who have had good and bad results. Break-in according to Richmond's site: Street vehicles should be driven at normal street driving speed for approximately 10 miles, then stop and let cool for 30 minutes. Do this 2 to 3 times. No mention of changing fluid, which I have read here that others have done after 100 & 500 miles. The guy who installed the gears said using cheap conventional oil was ok for break-in. I have not bought any yet. I have already purchased Redline 75-90 synthetic gear oil, but after reading another post here, maybe I should use Richmond's gear oils instead? What about the Amsoil "Slip Lock" differential additive? Good or snake oil?
"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of "liberalism", they will adopt every principle of our socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without ever knowing how it happened.... I no longer need to run on the Socialist Party ticket because the Democrat Party has now adopted our platform." --Norman Thomas, 1944 Socialist Party Presidential Candidate "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." --Winston Churchill |
