Message for Kenny's generous offer of taking $14 off their short shifter (WHOLESALE!!!), and complete refusal to just sell me the part I need.

Needless to say, $265 is a *little* more than I'm interested in spending to repair something that shouldn't have broken in the first place (oh, and their competitor, Z1, has the part for $150).

Backstory: sometime between 1992 and 2009, my Stillen aluminum short shifter galled onto the threads in my stock shift knob. In trying to remove it, I broke the threads off in the knob.

OK, my bad for using a pipe wrench after other more conventional means of persuasion failed, but also their bad for not specifying anti-seize between two different metals in the installation instructions.

That's not even getting into the ridiculous treatment I got for having the sheer temerity to be asking for technical support when I only happen to have bought a car with a Stillen part on it, instead of being the original purchaser of said part.

So, instead of making any money off me (by just selling me what I need), Stillen will instead, make $0, while I take their ridiculous part to a machine shop, where I will have a section of 10mm aluminum rod welded on, and then cut 1.25mm threads on it.

Oh, and to make this slightly less of an off-target rant, anybody know how long I need to make the rod?

Your powers are useless! I'm wearing my tinfoil underwear!
