Message everything in the world is a spring and when any item approaches its resonant reequency, destrictive vibrations can propogate excessively and destroy it. there are two ways to increase the resonant frequency of a structure (decrease vibrations) one is to add mass or increase stiffness(ie increasing the area moment of inertia of the piece) and the other is to add dampening. considering reforming the chassis members is off the list, and adding weight isn't a great idea when you want a car to be light, the dampener should have a noticeable effect at increasing the resonant frequency of the frame.
