Message For my power levels I feel it is good for me. That way I will have
stronger gears, and also not have to worry about syncros any more, and
the car will still be friendly on the street for me. It's going in a spare
tranny whenever the parts arrive.

Your options for transmissions are basically

-rebuild stock

-new stock

-rebuild OS gear set ( still uses syncros and is helical like stock)

-rebuild PPG gear set (still uses syncros and is helical like stock)

-rebuild PPG helical dog gear set (uses stronger helical gears and input
shaft and selector fork, and uses dog engagement so no more syncros.
Louder than stock, but an enjoyable loud...not like strait cut gears) This
is the route I went after driving in another type of car with this and liking
it.

-rebuild PPG strait dog gear set(same as above, but strait cut gears.
Super noisy and not for the street IMO, and I even like loud car noises)

-HKS Tranny ( I think it's still made)

Prices range from $1000 - $10000+

For clutches, there are a ton of options out there. Just search. I
personally went with the new Carbpn Carbon RPS unit and hear it's
great. I had one before, but it was the older model and years ago. I did
like it back then, but definately did not have near the power levels at
that time to really see what it could handle. I have not had personal
experience with the new style yet, but will soon when the car is running.
Others have had great success with the other RPS clutches and DXD
clutches also.

Prices range from ~$300-$3000+ Have fun, and enjoy the ride!
