interested for future events... I put down alot of track time both as a member/guest at tracks, with local clubs, and with The Driver's Edge DE events. I am very focused on track safety, and things that make track days unsafe or unfun for the new guys or increase the risk of car contact. I've seen it happen at the best of events. Car to car contact, cars flipping, cars slamming into concrete or water barriers, cars going off and ripping front bumpers off then running over them. I truely feel bad for the drivers when things like that happen. Alot of the times it's not even their fault, it's someone else driving like an idiot and not realizing the skill level or nervousness of others on track with them. IMHO, the main goal of an event such as Zcon is to get those that don't track their amazing and well taken care of road cars out on the track where they can learn how to control their cars in situations that are hard to practice on the streets legally. This should also be done in the safest possible manner for both the driver and their cars. Some of these Z's have 10's of thousands in paint and body work in them. Anything that risks damage (that most likely won't be covered by their insurance) needs to be looked at very closely otherwise attendence will drop. If the drivers aren't having fun or feel that their car is in danger then most likely they won't sign up next time. As upset as I get thinking of what Millen was doing out there it's not just me being selfish of my tracktime. I am concerned that if actions such as that happens then it will get someone flustered and force someone to go off where they normally wouldn't due to mis-handling the car. It's one thing to lift going through 6 or 8 and spin (the staff has leveled out the run off there for just such an event), verses getting flustered and going off somewhere that no one should ever go off at. Luckily H2R is a very safe track, just think what would happen if we were somewhere like TWS or Hallett where there are concrete walls, culverts, and 1 foot furrows in the run off areas.
