I didn't cut the filters in half. They were crappy cell phone pics looking down inside each filter, with a little bit of evening sunlight to help show the differences. Basically there were more perforations/holes inside the updated 55Y oil filter than before. It reminded me a lot of the discontinued 60U filters.
