I don't know the source, and my source to tell me is out of town for 2 weeks (manuf. rep for 20+ product lines). The rewashable part is cool. But does the price comparo work for you? Stock is 10ish isnt it? How much is the K&N and how many times to you have to wash it to break even? IMHO it *may* be part of your WOT problem, but doubtful. Usually a clogging filter will continue to cause driving problems rapidly. Often at higher, loaded speeds (on the road, not revving in driveway) and the speed will continue to drop. I had one once on another vehicle that was running great, then suddenly would not go over 65. By the time I got back home (250 mi) it would barely get to 40. Anyway, if you like the looks go for it. It wont be worse. Just did not want you to think it was extra special.
