87 LX (5.0) rustang DOWN! Many more to go. Not bad for one nights worth of racing. Yes I know... morality is NO WHERE to be found in this post. So I cruz with Mark Leader around the valley here in LA all night long....yes you guessed it...LOOKING to race. Took about an hour or so until we found our first victim. Im only running about 21 PSI boost....100 octane so I didn't want to push it until I get to the dyno. Anyway...so we see this S281 Rustang heading the other direction. Of course we turn around (remember we are out looking for worthy competition) and creep on him. He looks....we smile...he HAMMERS the gas. We both hear the whine of the SC and we jump in it. We RAN around the guy in second and by 3rd.....BYE BYE....he pulls up to the next light....WONT EVEN LOOK at us he felt so bad LOL! I felt sorry for him! I shit you not....about 30 minutes later....we see ANOTHER S281....this one is CLEAN....and has a NOS license plate on the rear ( I know...it was cheeeesy). Now we are RIGHT in the middle of rice town....i mean civics EVERYWHERE....somewhere in chatsworth. SO we pull up next to him and ask if he wants to run. Of course he did. Now Mark and I both thought he was fronting the NOS plate for the ricers....until I hear him purge LOL! It was on. This was from a dead stop. Mark was driving for this one (still in my Z though)...he catches an OK (maybe 2.3 60ft or so) luanch ....we walk past him in second and hes WAY off the back by 3rd. The look on this guys face was PRICLESS! WHen we shifted from 1st to second right next to him (he hole shotted us with the NOS) he was shocked to see us there im sure. We just motored on by like we were racing a stock Rustang in a stock TT. Without the NOS these 2 cars aren't much at this point. But I was pretty impressed with one having a SC and the other NOS....we handed it to them good. Then.....we see these punks in a C5. We goosed the gas a couple of times.....let him hit the gas....waited and then RAN by him at the beginning of second. I was shocked at how much I pulled and how quickly we just went by. Amazing. You get so used to the power you dont realize it. Some more looking provides us with some kids doing a burnout in the middle of the intersection in a older (87ish) Rustang. Of course....what did we do....we turned around LOL. The guy turns right to go up a nice grade hill....straight but up hill.....purges the HELL out of the NOS (we were right beside him....I think Mark got high from it...he purged it for like 5 seconds) and I hit the gas from a role in second gear. I RAN AWAY from this guy....he pulls up at the light...and wont even look LOL. I cant beleive it...you thought you fucked his wife or something. 2 other possibles.....a drag prepped Rustang that had some big ass slicks on and lots of cam (you could see it jump at the light) but despite us getting next to him in the bike lane....he wouldn't go. The other was an SS camero that sounded mean....we turned around on him only to have him turn around on us...DOH! He split somewhere....couldn't fimd him. Oh welll..... All in all...a very fun night....with a couple of races to boot LOL! Too bad no Vipers or Supras....but oh well. I swear we weren't loomking for them. Thought you may enjoy! And if you loose a race...at least look at the guy you lost too....it made me feel bad! These guys had some pretty quick cars. Oh well!
