Message relatively equal. I would almost bet that turning the A/C compressor applies the highest dynamic load.

I determine which belt is loose in the following manner.

Headlights on / off affects squeal = Alt. belt
Cycling A/C on / off affects squeal = A/C belt
Turn steering wheel to full lock affects squeal = you get it.

The slightest amount of oil on a belt will cause squeal at cold start even if the belt is properly tensioned.

One other cause for belt squeal is a belt coming loose from bearing wear or some imminent bearing failure like in the water pump, alternator, p/s pump or a/c idler. On all of my older cars, I actually install the belts on the loose side, and prefer to have to tighten them a little later. I've had situations where installing new belts to proper tension on older components quickly kills the older components.
