This is what happened to mine and more than likely happened to yours. The black wire(s)that are connected to your illuminated EL panels (orange or other color 300zx panel) is more than likely not connected. Mine had a short in it (exposed, non connected, copper wire) and I had to pull off the panel and peel away the duct tape to reposition the wires to get a connection and put electrical tape over it.They were hot glued together and it wasn't a good bond. Obviously you wont get shocked by disconnecting the battery before attempting this. But to ensure the connection is solid reconnect before reassembling the panels. Good Luck.
