Message This breaks my heart more than words can say, but I think I'm going to have to sell my Z. I just can't afford to do all the work it needs: tires, timing belt replacement, and whatever/wherever an exhaust leak is. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone around here like you guys who have any interest in them and would sort of coach me through what I need and/or knowing whether I'm being ripped off. Dealership says $2000 or $3000 to pull motor to fix exhaust leak. There's a good Z shop here, but they're no cheaper. (Better, I'm sure, but not cheaper.) I know the timing belt/water pump routine is about a thousand. EVERY freaking time I have I have the money put back, I wind up spending it at the vet. High maintenance old dog, but he's my heart.

Ugh. Anyway, if you go to this NADA used car guidebook thing and go through their calculations, is that about right, or should I discount it even more for being an automatic and needing this work? My heart is in my throat every time I get in it knowing I'm way over the mileage for the timing belt change. Guess I'd better do something soon before it gets worse.

You know, of course, every time you drive it people are yelling, "Is that car for sale?" but I don't think those people have a clue as to the value. Kid at the grocery store always rushes over to take my groceries out so he can see the car. He said, "I saw one of these on Ebay for $1,000." Yeah, right. I hear you, flash.

Thanks,
Vicki
