Message	You assume his compression is lower. Too many variables I might argue the opposite unless he is using a thicker than stock cometic head gasket. He decked the block..that normally raises compression all other things being equal. May have decked the heads. Cam timing is probably off. You run your Z at 22 -24 psi on pump if you want. Anything over 18psi and I'm running race gas. It adds a safety margin to help prevent detonation in higher boost, higher temp scenarios...like oh at a track.
