That money is taken from the budget, out of the pockets of those who earned it....or really at this point, printed from nothing, driving up inflation, which-in-effect takes money/buying power out of EVERYONE's pockets....and lines the pockets of dealerships, short-term, who got shafted in the government shakedown of GM and Chrysler. A tax cut lets people keep the money they earned and use it as they please. If they desired goal was to get fuel efficient cars on the street, there would be a tax cut for buying fuel efficient cars. OH BUT THERE ALREADY WAS, but as it turned out it was offset completely by the added expense of fuel efficient cars. Sooo if they wanted people to buy these cars, they simply would have "upped the ante" that was already in place. I personally could've lived with the governement granting an income tax holiday for people who purchase fuel efficient vehicles and maybe even stipulate they trade in some sort of "clunker" at time of purchase, but that wasnt what this was all about, was it? Nope, once again no purpose was being served here except to help the Democrats increase their grip on power and attempt to lock our country into a China-style one-party system. They dont care what impact it has on the lives of americans, they just want to remain in control and expand their control in every fashion imaginable. These people are truly radicals, leftists the likes of Chavez, Hitler, Mussolini, Castro, to be fought tooth-and-nail, there is no compromising, there is no middleground. Do you tell a woman to find a middle ground with her would-be rapist? No, it is silly. Well there is no middle ground between American capitalism and this radical power grabbing and attempt at total economic control. Wake up people
