Its been quite some time since I posted an update on my Z. In fact, I think this was the last one here: [ http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=general&msg_id=2101875&forum=general&dtSearch=4 ] - I need to figure out how to do laZlinks sometime. So a year and a half later, I am right around the corner from making it run. I still have a lot of work to do to get it running this weekend, so I won’t make this a long-winded post because I should be in the garage working on it. Started with degreeing the cams by referencing some posts here.
Then I began running all the sensor wires. Here you can see where I drilled a hole through the firewall and inserted a grommet to facilitate running the wires a little easier. They end up in the cabin at the Defi Control Unit located in my center console box.
I fabricated a DIN mount out of aluminum and modified the radio bezel slightly to install my Defi Link Display and Blitz SBC. I spaced out the Blitz unit to mount flush to the face of the Defi Link and secured it with hook and hook Velcro. That stuff is ridiculously strong.

I modified the timing covers so I could get to the adjustable cam gears for tuning purposes. Once I get a tune set, I may return to stock covers. Or I have a couple ideas on ways to button up the covers, but still allow me to get to the gears when needed. I sanded down and repainted them, as well as powder coated all of the engine brackets.

I also got my intercoolers back on, EFI harness ran, heat shields installed, and some other work that I haven’t taken photos of yet.
Oh, and straightened out the front fender from where the previous owner had used it as a jacking point. Much better now.
Kind of a weak post relative to all that I have done these past few weeks, but it’ll do. Hopefully, the next post this weekend will be of it all together and how it started on the first turn of the key… Well feel free to post comments and ask questions, I’ll answer them when I get a chance. Thanks TT.net for all your help along the way, it literally would not be possible without this resource.
