When the gov't moves from protecting honest individuals from criminals to making decisions for them and robbing some to give to others, you force people to hurt themselves or turn them into criminals.
Without ethanol mandates, he would simply be suggesting theft (pretending he suffered a loss due to negligence that didn't affect him). Instead, he faces the *honest* choice of eating the cost of injectors ruined by government-forced ethanol (but "just" 10 or 15% instead of the "excessive" 25 or whatever).
