| I screwed up my back in 2006 lifting weights. Being a poor graduate student I opted not to go to a chiropractor. About a year later I was still having issues with my back (pain would come back after being awake for 6 hours). Not wanting to be downing Tylenol every day I finally went to see a chiropractor. Took about 3 months of appointments but everything got cleared up. He also gave me a series of stretches to do but point out that if I'd come to him sooner I'd have been in better shape. As of today I'm fine. I try to get to the gym 1-3 times per week and every time I do stretch my back. But the pain is no longer an issue, unless I do something silly. But still it's much more manageble.
