| In todays time and increasing fuel crunch companies like GM are to slow, to fat, and basically to stupid to see the change of times. The american car industry needs a change, nobody wants big V8 that only make 200hp and only returns 18mpg. People want highly efficient motors that will make 300HP and give 30MPG even the US government know this and is producing guidelines that all manufactures have to follow. "President Obama announced a national program to raise car mileage to 35.5 mpg by 2016 from the current 25 mpg." Lets talk about how every american car looks like crap, come on who wants to drive in a ugly box and four wheels, there is absolutely no reason america can not make aerodynamic, attractive vehicles. We don't want ugly betty we want Miss America! The interior of american cars are still crap, we can't say that it is a price point it is a design point, other manufactures can do it why can't we? Sadly the truth is that American car industry is run by the clueless for the clueless. For some reason american cars are better produced in other countries. This is the time for change in the industry and small agile companies will rise to the top, the #1 car on my I got to have list is the Fisker Karma. Who wouldn't be excited by a vehicle that will run 55 without fuel, do 0-60 in 5 secs, have the curves of a wet dream, well designed interior and made from recycled materials, and best of if you do need to burn some gas it will return 100mpg. Yes this car is 80k but every other car is more than that in its class and can not dare to compare.

Forget Flex Fuel that has always and will always be a scam. And lastly America needs to take care of business recently off gulf of Texas they found a oil cavity one of the largest in the world and guess what? The US is not drilling it!! China is cross drilling for it? GM is no saint by any means GM bought the patent of the batteries they were using in the EV1 and sold it to Texaco! Come on GM thanks for ruining america and giving foreigners the evidence to call americans stupid. I sometimes feel American is not the land of Proud, strong, but of the greedy! Oh yes people will argue that we need the gas industry it employes to many. Well we can reuse this, they don't have to sell just gas anymore. How about they sell Hydrogen, Natural Gas, and etc. In California there is a few gas stations now selling hydrogen and cars like the Honda Clarity are taking ground. They are selling Hydrogen at gas prices (this actually overpriced) but regardless the Clarity does 60MPG check it out [ http://automobiles.honda.com/fcx-clarity/ ] Lastly look at Exxon last quarterly reports they are making the largest profits ever? And yet gas prices keep going up? Hmm if we the american public are not getting scammed we are dumb and blind.
