"Earlier on, we revealed a proposal of a successor to the original 2000GT. It was labeled as the 4000GT. Top picture. Toyota insiders say consumer clinics rejected the original design as too ugly and retro in a wrong sort of way. Its exterior design wasn't in the same class as the Ford Thunderbird or Chrysler PT Cruiser. So Toyota looked higher up for another kind of inspiration.....to Maranello and Stuttgart for another proposal. Ferrari 360 Modena body shape and 911 Turbo fascia. Toyota design, original as always. Engine will be a 4.5-litre V8, in full-blown tune capable of 400 ps. De-tuned versions will make 300 ps. Looks like it will leave the 2003 i-VTEC V6 NSX for dead!"
