Message damping can't deal with any forces other than vertical. If lateral forces are placed on the vehicle, where do those go? With heim joints/pillow balls, you get zero compliance and every lateral movement is translated directly into a jar/bump.

If you have SOME compliance on non-vertical movement of the suspension, that will improve ride quality. It's a trade-off curve though, the more compliance and ride quality you have, the more dynamic alignment changes you get (toe, caster, etc), which make for an unpredictable ride.

All I'm saying is there's a middle ground between stock snot-filled joints (a la t-rods) and heim joints. It doesn't have to be squeaky ES poly bushings either, I have gone with Group N high-durometer rubber bushings for the F/R trailing arms and lateral links and they make ZERO noise. Slight increase in NVH, but nothing compared to going to a full race setup.

No joint is "self cleaning" or "self lubricating," that sounds like marketing hype.
