Message You are correewct about needing a good sized part to get tensile strength tested. For a part I am making currently, to test the tensile strength of it, I had to supply the Texas based company with a piece of teh material no less than 6" long and 1/2" in diamtera. This includes the material needed for machining and clamping. You can't get a piece that large from the crankshaft.

Thanks,
Mike
