| But if you are going to go thru all this effort I would also recommend you make a few improvements 1. Better oiling of crank 2. smoothing counter weights to reducing foaming of the oil. 3. wider crankshaft journals for what fits I am thinking atleast the rods can be slightly increased. Just think of much more resilant wider rod bearings would be. 4. reduced rotating assembly would be good but I am not sure how much weight is ideal to remove from the crank itself. 5. Stroker!! Come on how can you really think of making a crank and not increase the displacement alittle bit. We can maintain the same piston speed with a simple 90mm bore piston with a 86mm stroke. That is not aggressive at all and we are at 3.281L, if push a little on the piston speed and go with a 88mm we are at 3.358L Hmm here is a small idea on piston speed 83mm 65.354 Feet Per second @ 7200 RPM 88mm 69.291 Feet Per second @ 7200 RPM
That is very small changes.. Also just think of response time of a 3.36L engine would be? It would make a big diff in our 300ZX. I wish I had done a stroke motor at first. I have driven all sorts of v6 and inline 6. And I tell ya with average turbo size everyone body wants to use (approx 550RWHP) 3.4L+ is where its at. Tho I will say the twin 2835 SC300 V8 4.2L was fun (until you made turns the car was heavy and needed stiffer suspension) especially since the turbos spooled up at around 2600 RPMS and the motor revved to 7000 RPMS. On big turbo Supras I have seen upto 800-1000 RPMS of less lag, (this was on a 80mm turbo). It used to spool in the 5200-5400 range and after the motor swap (crower stroker) it was in the 4000-4300 RPM and it was over 1K HP. If you made a stroker I would probably be buying at some point :-P I have 2 ideas on how to improve power on our cars stroker, or a triturbo compound setup. Also as far as price I had gotten quotes already for cranks, pistons, rods. Crank is less than 2500, pistons less than 600, rods less than 700, rings, bears and etc 200. That is around 4K for a stroker kit to be reproduced and that is small quanities IE less than 5. Setup cost and etc is a whole different matter.
