Do you want to be a broker. Or you want to do tech work? Yeah, I'm familiar with that position. You start low and work your way up and then you make serious cash. But it depends on how high you want or are able to go. And how fast you want to get there. Or sometimes, how long you've been with the firm. Is this a stable position? When head chopping comes around, and you know it will, will you get cut. Or is the desk so good that they are never or hardly affected by layoffs. Guess you can say the same thing about tech. But it'll depend on the group. Not sure if I'm really helping here. :-) But, dude, it's definitely a fact(here at least) that the potential to make money is alot HIGHER on the business side than it is on the tech side, when you factor in bonuses. But there are exceptions in tech. Hope I haven't confused you anymore than you already are.
