| The Driver's Edge held their first event at H2R this past weekend. H2R is a new road course in San Marcos, TX, which is in between Austin and San Antonio. This track is also hosting track event at ZCon this year. From the H2R website... The track is a 1.8-mile, 11-turn asphalt road course. The course is 36-feet wide with over 150 feet of elevation changes and a challenging mix of on and off-camber turns, including the 80-foot rise and drop of Santa Rita (Turn 4, named after the patron saint of the impossible task).
The drive from Dallas to San Marcos was a nightmare... 5 and a half hours of rain, wrecks, more rain, more wrecks, and the parking lot known as Austin, Tx. Saturday we woke up to more rain which thankfully stopped during the driver's meeting. While the rain had stopped, it still made for a really wet track. Not many pics in the rain. Turn 2
Turn 4 and 5
Turn 10
The club house sits on a hill over looking the track which makes it a great place to watch and learn.

Lots of MX-5's and Miatas

Old School Mustang complete with drum brakes.
My car favorite of the weekend. Right hand drive GT-40.

The only other Z's at H2R were a couple of Z33's.

Mustang is approaching turn 7, the Viper is exiting turn 8.

Z Club of Texas member and Driver's Edge instructor Renee in her Corvette.

Close up of the track stickers on the S2000. The Driver's Edge has been handing these out at each event this year.

PSP working hard as usual in the pits. Performance Speed Tech, whose home track is MSR- Cresson, follows the Driver's Edge to their events to provide on site track support. A.J. and company are always a welcome sight at any event.

GTR thingie...

Got Porsche..?

Got Drop...?

A big thanks to Rick and all at the Driver's Edge who ran another great event... Had a great time learning a new track and meeting some new car nuts as well as seeing some old friends.
A big thanks to Brian ( LordZ ) who volunteered ( or who got volunteered... ) for his job working track out and keeping those exiting the pits separated from those flying down the front straight. I have pics that can be purchased of Brian in action for the right price. Thanks to Barry ( one of those speedy lotus/mini owners ) for taking some pics of me and my run group. No pics of you and your mini setting the pace in the red run group for some reason... sorry sir. Thanks to A.J. and PSP for their track side support. I had a tire going down and we found a valve stem that had decided to work it's way loose from the wheel. Best 7 bucks I've spent. And a special thanks to the owners and operators of H2R. You have a great track and I'm looking forward to driving it again at ZCon. sure wish you guys were closer to Dallas... I'd join in a heartbeat. For those interested in track course decals... I've found 2 sites that each have a great selection. http://www.trackdecal.com/prod/tracks.html http://www.trackgraphic.com/store/products-all.aspx
