have been obvious that he was purchasing a complete knock-off. I'll try to get my hands on a set and confirm, but I suspect they have inferior low density cores. We are constantly making small design changes to our SMIC for better fitment and performance. We have a batch in production now with even more improvements. Our philosophy is to just work harder than anyone else and stay ahead of the curve. It's inevitable that good products will sometimes get duped in this environment for any number of reasons, but as long as you stay a step ahead improving, refining, and making them economical as possible it at least discourages others to even waste their time and keeps the originals as the best choice for consumers. The majority of copies we see are duped with no quality control or even basic understanding of mechanical principles. All of our products, even if we are improving on an existing design, are actually engineered, thoroughly tested, and continuously refined as they are installed in our shop. We sometimes get complaints from customers who have purchased products about the fact that we seem to always be updating the same products with improvements, added features, and for less cost. Some people say "Why didn't you just make it perfect the first time?" Well of course that is our goal, but there is always room for improvements and refinements over time. There is no substitute for time and in depth experience installing and using a product, even beyond beta testing. You can always find ways to make it fit or perform better, and even find ways to produce it for less without compromising quality. Vendors who come out with a products and decide they are perfect to begin with, that they should not continue to refine them, and do not continuously search for the most economical production methods are destined to fall victim to knock-offs. Knock offs are going to happen and sometimes for legitimate reasons that consumers may not be privy to. However there is obviously no gray area when it comes to misreprenstation.
