Message Hey guys - been pretty busy as of late working to assemble this vehicle and have put together something I just wanted to share.

Back in my single-year ages I got a gift from my father which was a copletely see-through model V8 engine called the "Visible V8", about 1/4 scale or so. I have always been impressed with the complex workings of our engines and wanted to be able to see more of what makes them tick. It would be impossible to build a completely see-through operational VG but there is one aspect of the engine that lends itself to something similar. I'm looking forward to firing this baby up to get the full effect but the pictures alone leave a lot of room for imagination there. :)

Bare front end:

1/4" acrylic backplane drafted and mounted:

1/16" aluminum frame attached and 1/8" plexiglass cover drafted.

1/2" dia aluminum mounting "barrels" machined and SS riveted - button-cap SS fasteners installed to retain cover plate.

The plenum, valvecovers, CAS bracket, and both cooling pipes were all bengal silver powdercoated and finished with two coats of clear powdercoat. The acrylic backplane sheets were cut into three sections to allow for expansion of the block/heads to prevent cracking and were fastened using thick rubber grommets to allow creep and eliminate the possibility for fracture. The front cover plate has been cut into three seperate pieces for the same reason as well as to allow easy removal for cleaning. The front coolant pipes dont have to be removed to take the covers off. I've since added an ignition timing index plate to the lower cover as well.

The engine has since been installed and just waiting on a few odds and ends to finish the assembly - she should be on the roads in just a couple more days from now. :)

Happy Easter guys - hope it was good for all..
