I drove from San Jose, Ca to Dallas, Tx then back to San Jose last month! (May 19-May28) At one point, my co-pilot and I drove for about 24hours without a break (w/exception of getting gas) #1 take advantage of those Gas station squeegees... tons of dead bugs all over the front of my Z. disgusting #2 check your oil level often. I found that during my trip I used about 2 extra quarts of oil. #3 MP3 player is a must! I only used 3 cd's @ ~100 tracks each #4 laptop w/DVD + some DVD movies. #5 Digital Camera!: [ http://icormba.com/Grand/canyon.htm ] #6 the most important thing! make sure your Car is in excellent condition before you go! do all those things in the Tech section. my Car had 109k when I left... I returned with ~115k 1990 NA 2+2 services done before I left: power steering hoses replaced (leaking!) oil change removed & flushed radiator replaced the belts & added underdive pulley (Thanks got rice?!!!!) O2 sensors PCV valves (actually done a few months ago) spark plugs p.s. I stayed in Dallas with my sister (lewisville) for 5 days... no offense, but the highlight of those 5 days was seeing Tony Hawk skate with my little 7 year old nephew. Not much beyond that... I think I only saw 2 Z's the entire 5 days I was there! I usually see 2+ everyday in SJ.
