The determining factor for changing the date was to avoid the volitale spring weather, when there could be nearly freezing temperatures and a high possibilty of rain. It is a good thing we did as it would have been a huge wash this year given we had floods here last weekend. We struggled with choosing the best date for a while. A few weeks earlier than the date we picked and it could easily be too hot here for a tolerable track day and outdoor car show in an asphalt parking lot. There is a much higher chance of thunderstorms in August / early September then in late Semptember / October when it is usually very dry and pleasant, short of an unlikely hurricane or tropical storm coming up from the Gulf.
