Message you can get at any Home Depot, Lowes, Shucks etc. I was using simple green but it just does not have the cutting power of the spray can degreasers you get at automotive stores.

I then decided to stop playing around with brushes and used my Dremel with a Brass cup wheel at low to medium speed to get the rest of the grime out of the corners. It took me around a minute to clean the face of the thermostat housing and the water pump with the dremel to get all of the gasket and crud residue off. Very quick - just make sure you only use brass brushes and not wire of course.

I did not use that on any seal face though - that was the 3M double ought finishing pads (for between varnish coats) dipped in clean oil to reduce any chance of scratching.
