Subject	Help on 1996 Na -> TT Conversion

Message	So my friend owns a 1996 Slicktop NA, we found this TT front clip for very cheap locally. This clip is priced right and he has the money now so I need some help gathering some vital information about the conversion in which will help him decide to go through with it or not. The main concern is not about swapping parts or pulling motors... the main problem is the electronics and how to keep it legitimate. How would he pull this off swapping a 1990-1995 motor into a 1996? Since the car/registration/vin will be from a 1996, how would he swap an older motor and with a matching year ECU and pass OBDII inspection? Is the only option to get a 1996 motor/ecu/harness? Thanks a lot! I tried to search and there doesn't seem to be much info or I must be using the wrong keywords. -Justin
