If it's all the way through the clear coat (and into the paint itself) then you're screwed. If not, there's a 3-step process that will make it good as (or better than) new. First, use the 3M fine rubbing compound on it. Be sure NOT to use swirl motions - only straight back and forth. Next, go over it with 3M swirl mark remover for DARK cars. This step should/can be swirls. Lastly, slap on a coat of your favorite wax and you're set. If your paint is new, skip the wax and use glaze until the paint is at least 30 days old. It's easy - shouldn't take but 20 minutes or less. I've been hit twice with only light scrapes ... this process took them all out both times. Cheers. (P.S. The 3M products should be available at any good auto store for $9-$13 per bottle.) Oh - if you're results aren't as good as you had hoped, you're probably not using enough pressure. Also be careful around edges with the rubbing compound as it is possible to go all the way through the clear coat.
