| I used to work for ups for a winterbreak years ago and it's not much better there. I worked on a delivery truck so i can at least describe that process. When you get the truck in the morning it's always loaded with packages and always stacked regardless of signs on the boxes. Packages on the top of the pile usually get the worst treatment because if they end up not being in correct order my driver would just grab those and toss it towards the back to deal with later.(and by tossed i mean thrown no matter the size. But by far the worst thing you can do for your package is to not be there for delivery the first time. If your package gets brought back to the truck it gets thrown from the front all the way to the back so its out of the way. So in short make sure you pack the crap out of it and if it's a heavy package double box it as when packages are thrown the heavy items inside tear the box
