Well this economy is not helping, but I finally saved up enough funds to replace my wheels and tires. I have been running a set of 19” Rays with Potenza REO50A’s for a few seasons. I got them for a steal a few years ago when I need to replace my old tires. The wheels and tires were $500, a pretty good deal. Well with a small budget in mind, I went shopping and found a set of clean 350Z track wheels for $500. I want to do a few autox events and a few track days this season but I can only afford one set of rims/tires. So I went with the Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec’s. They have a 140 tread wear, good dry traction and they are stable in the corners. Compared to the RE050A’s I was running, these have a considerable amount of more dry traction. Today was the first dry day in a week, so I went for a nice short drive. So far I have only good things to say about the Dunlop’s. They are more quiet than the Potenza’s and have better traction… and they are less. I also included a few pictures of my DIY home ramps. The car sits so low in the front, my craftsman low profile jack does not fit, and my Rhino ramps don’t work worth beans. Not bad for $30 of wood and a few screws and nails.
