| This is for TTs 90-95 Obd1 auto can be use in a 5 speed car, but 5 speed can't be used in a auto car - the auto ecu has additional circuitry to interface w. the transmission control module. 96 are OBD2 and unique, I don't think that you can even mix auto vs. manual 8bit eprom 90-94 16bit eprom 95 & 96 90-92 had AIV programming - all modern upgrades disable this system. Even when it is NOT disabled the only side effect is a bit of richness at idle. 93-94 basically the same. 95 unique Cali vs. Federal Cali spec ECUs have programming that looks for a temp sensor on the EGR If you use a Cali ecu in a federal car you will get a CEL you clear this CEL you need to install a Federal eprom in the ecu. ALL 1995 300zx are "cali spec" they all had they egr temp sensor, plus a intake pressure senor and a few other odd ball things. In general you can use a 90-94 ecu on a 90-95 car. IMHO a 95 idles a bit better w. a 95 16bit obd1 ecu but it will run/drive/etc on a 90-94 ecu. As for why Coz's site has the break outs in the years - I suspect that has more to do w. what he should expect as a core then any function on what your ecu will be programed as.
