Message Stop it with this AMD/Intel crap. The only people who still believe that AMD CPU's are unstable are people who don't know what they are doing.

I worked for a MB manufacturer for a couple of years, and I heard all the stories about AMD/Intel/Cyrix, and just about all those stories result from user error and general incompetance.

I tested hundreds of CPU/MB combinations, Including AMD/Intel/Cyrix chips, and I never had compatibility issues with any of them. After travelling to customers' sites to diagnose the problems they were having, the cause was always the same: they didn't configure the board properly. People tended to have more problems with AMD/Cyrix CPU's because they were trying to configure them like Intel CPUs with the core/I/O voltages and the clock multipliers. If they would have simply RTFM, they wouldn't have had problems.

Besides, AMD has the performance lead right now. The 1.4 ghz Athlon outperforms the higher clocked P4 in most benchmarks.

And no, I don't have an AMD CPU in my system right now, I'm not biased, I look at the facts and make the smartest decision based on the facts.
