and it had only been 3 minutes -- the cop just happened to drive by the main street that we're connected to and saw me driving up "the STREET" and drove up to investigate i was on the empty lot section of the side walk getting ready to turn into our backyard for riding -- we have several acres. My account of what happened is 100% accurate as u could even ask the 2 neighbors that saw and came over to ask. Just so you know -- myself and the neighors ride around all the time in the yards and street and our neighbors have had their children ride w/ us on our bikes -- plus it was a country sherrif's deputy and not the local police. All in all -- we live in a very "backwoods" area where bikes, quads, 4x4's are a dime a dozen and almost everyone has something and ride them openly. I'm not saying all "law enforcement" are idiots or assholes, i'm just saying this guy was going out of his way to be an ass today -- i told him that me and the neighbors ride around quite a bit since there are 5 empty lots on our street and normally are in the yards doing it and not the street -- i was only on the street trying to kill the 1st layer of the brand new tire on my bike. It would be similiar to someone working on their Z who lived on a culdasac and didnt put their belt on but wanted to drive up the street to see how the car was running and gets a ticket for not having his belt on. Thats just my opinion -- i've told this 100% accurately and believe me -- there are a lot of asshole cops out there and there's a lot of asshole internet biz owners (like me) -- i'm just expressing my disapointment w/ this situation.
Call me crazy, but i think a warning would have been in order considering the circumstance (no children anywhere outside, only been on the bike 3 minutes to break in the new tire, and was only 100 ft away from my house on a non-through street). Opinions are like assholes -- we all got one! L8r,
