| I am in the Navy and I see that mentality all the time. The people with the authority to make changes to stupid rules instead say that rules are rules and we all have to abide by them regardless how dumb they are. If you have the power to change something, use it! I know it does not rest with you but I'll bet you have some pretty decent say in the matter when it comes to voting...unless the mods fall under the communistic admin party. ;)
