even then, the clutch fork position relative to egagement will vary with afternmarket clutch kits, and even a bit with stock kits from car to car(especially considering the amount of wear on pressure plate and disk over time). Still, clutch fork position would be more accurate as you suggested. Maybe they would of left that(clutch engagement) out of the decision loop since it's not always a constant? Who knows...oh yea, nissan should :)
