if your asking how to prep the gravel guard just hit it with some scotch brite pad, then clean it with water then with paint thinner/acetone. you just have to make sure the shine is gone so whatever you spray will stick, and that its clean a fingerprint will show up so use latex gloves when your cleaning it to make sure. other than that use some quality paint (ppg, house of kolor or something comperable) and thats about all the advice i can give you on painting stuff. ive done tons of prep work and color sanding at my uncles bodyshop but never really did much paint work. i would also remove the fender and bumper if your going to do it yourself, you can build a smaller clean area, and also shoot it flat to reduce the chance of a run, and also its easier to see that your laying even color since youd probably shoot it under less than ideal lighting. hope i helped...
