I still haven't remedied my effed up fascia and fender, mostly because of the ~$2K quotes I've gotten. A couple friends of mine have gone all top gear on me saying "how hard could it be?" I'm no stranger to a paint gun, so I'm seriously considering painting and mounting the new fender and fascia myself. My question is on the prep. What is the best way to sand the textured lower areas of the fender and fascia? I don't want to just skim over the bumps and leave the recessed portions untouched. Can it be hit with a thinner and wiped off? Anyone with experience care to fill me in?
