Spent three years in so-called trendy South Beach and one year in Kendall. I was burglarized twice (in daylight), Harley was stolen (in daylight), Z was vandalized (hood caved in), parts stolen off of locked bicycle, sky-high insurance on car, bike, dwelling (hmm, wonder why...), horrendous traffic (even during non rush-hour times), rude drivers, expensive or non-existent parking, unbelievably corrupt government/police, lots of 90 degree temps April - November (hope you like humidity too) and many merchants speak little or no English. On the plus side the nightlife is robust and the topless beach is cool but those wear smooth after a year or so. Do I ever return to visit? Nope.
