my whole company started a switch over to HP laptops for our machines (eventually would be ~ 100k boxes), but after only about 20k, we have found them to have a terrible failure rate. Our existing thinkpad machines almost never break (we have more considered 'fail' due to worn keyboards/touchpads than mfg issues), but our HPs have had everything from bad Power Supplies, to failing screens, to catching fire! I wouldn't recommend an HP ever.
