Message	the 2.5M number was based on "analysts estimates" based on the number of directly employed by GM and the impact to their vast supplier network. The keyword here is "estimate". I don't think anyone knows the true impact, not even GM. FWIW, I've seen estimates as high as 4.9M, but again it's just an estimate. I also understand that many analysts are trying to paint as shitty a picture as possible in order to bolster the argument for a bailout. Bottom line is I don't want to find out the exact true number, because by then we're in really bad shape. No one will know the true number until it happens.
